Marriages (September 29)

Rev. Frank James was called to New Berlin [Chenango Co., NY], Tuesday, to perform a marriage ceremony.  The young people are Miss Carrie Hunt and Raymond E. Peck, friends of Mr. James.  The marriage took place at the home of the bride's father, Geo. E. Hunt, one of New Berlin's respected and esteemed citizens.  The bridal party left on an extended wedding trip to Utica, Albany and New York city.  The couple are popular young people and have a host of friends who wish them a happy and prosperous future.  [Bainbridge Republican,  Nov. 2, 1911]
 
At high noon Wednesday, Oct. 7th, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Booth, in the town of Oxford [Chenango Co., NY], Miss Nellie Booth and Stephen Ireland were united in the holy bonds of wedlock by Rev. T.F. Hall of Binghamton, a former pastor.  Friends and relatives were present to witness the ceremony and wish the happy couple well for their journey together through life.  There were many useful presents left by the guests as mementoes of the occasion.  Both of the young people are well known and have a host of warm friends.  Mr. and Mrs. Ireland left on the O.&W. railroad for a short trip, after which they will make their home in this vicinity.  The bride's twin sister, Nettie, was married June 24th to Ernest F. Ingersoll, a cousin of the groom, and thus within four months do four of our best young people join the matrimonial army, and the Express wishes them long and happy lives with health and prosperity. 
 
AT 5:00 o'clock last evening occurred the beautiful home wedding of Mr. Eugene Richards of Rochester and Miss Louise Frisbie, the accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.N. Frisbie, at their home on East Main street [Bainbridge, Chenango Co., NY], in the presence of sixteen invited guests.  Rev. R.H. Stearns pastor of the Presbyterian church, tied the nuptial knot in a graceful and impressive manner.  The bride was attired in a lovely pearl Henrietta dress, trimmed with lace, while the groom wore the conventional black.  Mr. Joseph Hirt acted as best man and Miss Clara Thomas was bridesmaid.  Miss Thomas was dressed in yellow silk, trimmed with lace.  The house was handsomely decorated with choice flowers and potted plants.  Mr. and Mrs. Richards left on No. 3 for Rochester, where they will reside at 190 Court street. Their many Bainbridge friends wish them a long life of wedded bliss. 
 
Yesterday at the First Baptist church a brilliant social event took place in the marriage of Dr. Ernest L. Bennett to Miss Leah D. Mix, both of this city.  The church was crowded with the friends of the contracting parties.  The ceremony took place promptly at 1 o'clock.  The church was prettily decorated with flowers and potted plants.  Mr. Ralph Kilmer presided at the organ.  As the bridal party marched to the altar, the march from Lohengrin was played.  First came the ushers, Harry Perkins, Esq., Albert Barnes, Esq., Mrs. Charles H. Loveland, Mr. George Johnson, Mrs. William Worrell and Mr. Albert E. Barnes.  Then came Miss Mable Adams as flower girl, followed by the bride and Miss Katie Tucker of Owego, the bridesmaid.  The bride was met at the altar by the groomsman, and his best man, Mr. Curtis Burlingame.  Rev. Benj. L. Herr performed the marriage ceremony.  The bridal party and friends repaired to the home of Dr. Bennett, no. 273 Chenango Street, where an informal reception as held.  Mr. and Mrs. Bennett left for a short wedding tour after which they will be at home to their friends at 273 Chenango. 
 
Lighted tapers and a floral archway of chrysanthemums and myrtle formed the setting for the marriage on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 12 o'clock noon, at the home of the bride's parents, of Miss Maxine Barbara Heinrich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Heinrich of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], to Stanley Earl Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis M. Smith, also of Bainbridge.  The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown and fingertip veil attached to a lace cap edged with seed pearls.  She carried a bridal bouquet of white roses.  Following the ceremony and reception a lunch was served to the 40 guests at the Central hotel in Bainbridge.  A three-tiered wedding cake centered the bride's table and baby chrysanthemums and candles were used for table decorations.  Mrs. Smith is a granddaughter of Lavern Waring of Walton.  [LMD notation:  1945]
 
Miss Marion E. Tyler, daughter of Mrs. Clarence A. Tyler of 213 South Duane Avenue, Endicott [Broome Co., NY], became the bride of Kenneth Reissenstein Saturday night at a ceremony in the home of  Mr. and Mrs. J. Ward Allen in 102 Lewis Street, Vestal.  Mr. and Mrs. Allen are sister and brother-in-law of the bride.  The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Susan J. Reissenstein of Syracuse.  The Rev. Wilbur J. Kerr, pastor of Union Presbyterian Church, officiated.  For attendants the couple had Mr. and Mrs. Dorr W. Warner of Endicott.  For her wedding ensemble the bride had a gold suit with matching accessories.  Mr. and Mrs. Reissenstein will reside in Syracuse [Onondaga Co.,  NY] where he is an account executive with R.H.
