Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Gladys Hawkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hawkins, of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], to Sergeant Louis DeSalvo, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. DeSalvo, of Sidney [Delaware Co., NY]. The ceremony took place on Sept. 16 in Columbus, Ga. After spending two weeks in Georgia, the bride returned to the home of her parents where she will stay and continue her work at the Scintilla Magneto Corp. in Sidney where she is employed. Winsor - Marsh: Thursday evening, Sept. 3, at Marathon, occurred the marriage of Mrs. Marion M. Marsh, of Coventry [Chenango Co., NY], to Louis T. Winsor, of Guilford [Chenango Co., NY]. The Rev. Ira Sherman was the officiating clergyman. Although this item comes a month late, it is of interest to their many friends in this community and throughout the country, where both are well known. Mrs. Winsor was a former resident of Guilford for many years. Since moving to Coventry, she has kept alive her interest in the activities of our various organizations. She is a member of the Guilford Woman's Club and re-elected chairman of the "Sewing Branch" of the Red Cross local chapter. Mr. Winsor has served the Town of Guilford as road commissioner for many years. The best wishes of everyone go with them for happiness through the years to come. The Rev. Charles J. Dempsey, of the Methodist church, was the officiating clergyman. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman are popular Guilford young people. The Rev. Norman Graves, of Oxford, officiated at the ceremony, which took place in the presence of the immediate members of both families. Witnesses were Bernice Cunningham and Raymond Cunningham, of Oxford. The bride is a graduate of Guilford Central School and is one of the popular young ladies of our village. Mr. Palmer is a former Guilford boy, having lived here with his parents for many years. prior to moving to Oxford. Mr. and Mrs. Scott were attended by Guy Leonard, of West Bainbridge, and Miss Frances Rose, of Nineveh, sister of the bride. Mr. Scott is a machine worker at the American Separator in Bainbridge and Mrs. Scott is an inspector at the Scintilla plant. The young couple will make their home in Nineveh.
