William H. Laraway a lifelong resident of Sidney [Delaware Co., NY], died at the Binghamton City Hospital Sunday morning at 4 o'clock. He was born in the Town of Sidney, July 31, 1881, the son of David W. Laraway and Hattie E. Spencer. He moved into the village of Sidney 35 years ago. On April 2, 1902, he married Bernice Case, of Sidney, who survives him. He is also survived by seven sons and three daughters: Leland, Robert, Donald and Raymond, of Sidney; Cecil, of Mt. Upton, Glenn, of Scotia, Clifford, of the U.S. Army, stationed at Stewart Field, West Point, Mrs. Robert Perry and Mrs. Edward Hinckley, of Sidney, and Miss Helene Laraway at home. Edward Howey, 45, 17 Butler street, Shickshinny, Pa., half-brother of James Lowry, of Bainbridge, died March 3, at the Nanticock State Hospital following a week's illness. A native of Dickson City, Mr. Howey had made his home there until two years ago, when he moved to Shickshinny. He had been employed by the American Car and Foundry Co., Berwick. Surviving are his wife, Nellie; two daughters, Mrs. Rexford Lockwood, Waymart, and Lillian, at home; a son, Edward, Jr. at home; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Howey; and two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Pollard, Scranton, Pa., and Mrs. Martha Beaver, Trenton, N.J. The funeral was held March 6 at 3 o'clock at Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home. Interment was in Union Hill Cemetery, Peckville, Pa. [Bainbridge News & Republican, Mar. 15, 1945]
William J. Aylesworth, of Coventryville [Chenango Co., NY], was taken to the Bainbridge Hospital Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 27, and passed away Mar. 2 at 10:30, at the age of 74. Mr. Aylesworth was the son of Emery and Emley Aylesworth, and he was born on his father's farm in West Bainbridge. On Mar. 11, 1906, he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Bunt, of Greene, in the parsonage at Bainbridge. he was a kind and devoted husband and a loyal friend and neighbor, and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Funeral services were held with the Rev. Harry Brooks officiating. Burial was in the Sylvan Cemetery, Greene. Besides his wife he is survived by one brother, Edward Aylesworth, of Binghamton; and one sister, Mrs. Ora Davenport, of Oneonta; and several cousins and nieces.
