Helen Maria (Smith) Cartledge
Bainbridge Press, January 4, 1940
Mrs. Helen Maria Cartledge, 83 years, died Sunday night at the home of Mrs. Lydia Rarmsdell.  She had been suffering from a heart ailment since Thanksgiving time.  She was born March 7, 1855, in Springfield, NY., the daughter of George H. and Lepha Stowell Smith. She has been a resident of Bainbridge for 45 years and was the widow of William H. Cartledge. Mrs. Hallie Howland, a niece, is one of the survivors.  Burial was in Greenlawn cemetery [Bainbridge, Chenango Co., NY], January 4.

Ida Sprague

Ida Sprague, age 76, wife of Edgar Sprague, died at the Bainbridge Hospital, January 27.  She was born at Cozirum, Ohio.  The survivors are husband, three daughters and a son, Joseph Sprague, of Norwich. The funeral was held Monday afternoon, January 29, at Colwell's Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. G.N. Underwood officiating. The body was placed in the vault.

Elsie (De Forest) Lyon

Elsie Lyon, wife of Richard Lyon, died at her home in Newton Hollow, last Monday, January 22.  Mrs. Lyon was born May 16, 1860, in Unadilla [Otsego Co., NY], and was the daughter of Alford De Forest. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Colwell's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Paul L. Carpenter officiating. The pall bearers were Archie Livingston, Ray Weeks, Ward Loomis and Isaac Carl. Burial was in the West Bainbridge Cemetery.

Ruby Irene Neidlinger

Mrs. Otto Neidlinger passed away at the Bainbridge Hospital, Monday morning [March 4, 1940] at 5 o'clock, following a serious operation.  The funeral was held at the Presbyterian Church Wednesday afternoon.

Cynthia Clymena (Dimick) Flint

Cynthia Clymena Flint, 87, widow of the late Reno E. Flint of Syracuse, died May 9, at the home of Charles D. Dix.  Funeral services were held Sunday evening, May 12, at 8 o'clock, at Colwell's Funeral Parlors, with the Rev. Paul L. Carpenter officiating.  Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, at Parishville.  Born in Wisconsin, Aug. 20, 1853, she was one of seven children, of Philo and Naomi Dimick.  In 1855, they moved to Norfolk.  Her father and four brothers served in the Civil War. She was a member of the Episcopal Church.  Surviving are a son-in-law and grandson, Charles and Orville Riggs, Parishville; a nephew, C.W. Butler, and grandnephew, and grandniece, Billy and Mary Butler, of Bainbridge.

Carrie (Lyon) Parker

Carrie Lyon Parker, age 65, widow of the late Ray Parker, passed away Tuesday evening at her home on North Main street [Bainbridge, Chenango Co., NY].  She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Royden, of Schenectady, one son, Kenneth L. Parker, of Hancock, and one granddaughter, Francilia Royder, of Schenectady. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 EST, at Colwell's Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery at Oxford [Chenango Co., NY].
