Deaths

In West Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], on the 19th ult., Mr. Seth Johnson aged 47 years.

In Guilford [Chenango Co., NY], on the 13th ult., Mrs. Daniel Beebe, in the 75th year of her age.

George Clark son of Wm. Clark of this village [Bainbridge, Chenango Co., NY], says the Bainbridge Ledger, aged seven years, died on Saturday morning last, under peculiar circumstances.  The Saturday evening previous he retired apparently as well as usual, and on the following morning awoke and for some time amused himself by playing with a kitten, without leaving his bed.  Upon being called an hour later, he was found unconscious and remained in a comatose state until the hour of his death.

In Smithville [Chenango Co., NY], on the ?th inst. Seber [Winchell] aged 1 month and 1 day.

In Norwich [Chenango Co., NY], suddenly, on the 5th inst., Mrs. Louisa M. Haynes, widow of the late Hiram H. Haynes, aged 59 years.

In Norwich [Chenango Co., NY], on the 31st ult. Mrs. Fanny M. Kershaw, widow of the late James Kershaw, aged 57 years.

We have been informed, say the New Berlin Pioneer, that Mr. Dana D. Rice residing a few miles west of this village [New Berlin, Chenango Co., NY], was on his was to Sherburne with a load of bark, on the 3d inst., and when going down a hill this side of the village, he was in some way drawn forward upon the horses, who immediately started upon a run, dragging and mangling Mr. Rice in a most horrible manner.  He lived about an hour after the transaction.
