Deaths

SHATTUCK:  In this village [Norwich, Chenango Co. NY], Sept. 23d, after a lingering sickness of sixteen months, Mrs. Mary C. [Shattuck], wife of Leroy Shattuck, Esq., in the 60th year of her age.  An affectionate companion, a faithful mother, and a devoted Christian. She closed a useful life, patiently suffering the will of Him who doeth all things well. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."

BOWERS:  In this village [Norwich, Chenango Co. NY], Sept. 25th, suddenly, Mrs. Joanna Bowers, aged about 84 years.

RANSFORD:  In Oakfield, Iowa, Sept. 16th, Frankie W. [Ransford] daughter of Hascall and Josephine M. Ransford, formerly of this village [Norwich, Chenango Co. NY], aged 2 years and 4 months.

DINGHAM:  In Bainbridge [Chenango Co. NY], Aug. 30th, of diptheria, Charles W. Dingham, and on Sept. 6th, Hattie L. Dingham, the youngest son and eldest daughter of Mr. John Dingham.

BAXTER:  In Coventry [Chenango Co. NY], Sept. 21st, Mrs. Sarah Baxter, aged 85 years.

WILLIAMSON:  In New Hartford, September 5th of typhoid fever. V. DeEtta [Williamson] eldest daughter of C.H. Williamson, formerly of this place [Norwich, Chenango Co. NY], aged 16 years and 10 months.

HALL:  In North Norwich [Chenango Co. NY], August 7th, Mary L. [Hall], only daughter of Geo. W. and Mary J. Hall, aged 10 months.

CRUMB:  In Pharsalia [Chenango Co. NY], Sept. 18th, Sarah [Crumb], wife of Phineas Crumb, aged 40 years.

Death

In this town [Greene, Chenango Co. NY], on the 24th inst. Mr. Ezra Lucas, aged 81 years, father-in-law of E.S. D. Spencer.
