Afflictions sore, long she bore, / Physicians were in vain, / Till God at last did hear her moan / And eased her of her pain.

Let me go, I cannot tarry, / Angel's wait my soul to carry, / Dearest friends weep not so, / If you love me let me go.

On Monday afternoon, Mrs. Eliza A. Dodge, of this village [Norwich, Chenango Co NY], while sitting in her chair, suddenly fell to the floor, and expired.  Dr. Avery was called, and was almost instantly there, but she was just breathing her last.  Her disease was apoplexy.  She was the widow of the late Horace G. Dodge, at Trenton, Oneida Co. and was about 54 years old.  She removed here with her daughter, Mrs. A.E. Moore, some months ago, and had earned the reputation of being an honest upright citizen, well approved of by all who knew her.  She had been at work during the day and had exhibited no previous signs of ill health.
