Hubert L. Brown
Republican candidate for district attorney
Norwich [Chenango Co. NY]: So far as the Presidential canvass is concerned there is little or nothing in Norwich to indicate that the campaign is on. While in other and smaller towns, the opposing parties are swinging their banners to the breeze and lining up for the contest. Norwich is as quiet politically as a Quaker churchyard.
A little ginger, however, may be injected into the campaign in the canvass for some of the county offices. This is true especially in the contest for the office of district attorney, both candidates for which reside in Norwich. Hubert L. Brown, the Republican aspirant, has the advantage of having served a term or two in the office very acceptably. Friends of the Democratic candidate, William H. Sullivan, are confident he will poll a large vote and while they do not expect he will be elected they assert that his popularity in Norwich, his native town, will be larger than that polled by his Republican opponent.
