Wesley Lamott & Anna E. (Barker) Tefft

Norwich [Chenango Co., NY]:  One of the happiest events of Christmas day in Norwich was the marriage at the home of the bride's father, Sylvester W. Barker, on Cortland street, of Miss Anna E. Barker and Wesley Lamott Tefft.  The large parlor where the ceremony occurred was lavishly adorned with holiday greens.  Graceful festoons hung from the ceiling and masses of verdure were banked here and there about the room, giving a very pleasing effect. A large arch of evergreen stood out from one side of the room fringed with flowers and bearing three beautiful bells.  At 8 o'clock in the evening the bridal pair, unattended, stood before the arch, in the presence of a score or more of relatives and friends.  Rev. John L. Ray, Ph. D., performing the ceremony.  The bride was gowned in white lace over white silk and carried a bouquet of white roses.  A wedding supper was served.  There were many beautiful gifts.  The bride is greatly esteemed for her amiable ways and womanly qualities. The groom is an employee in the Ontario & Western Railway shops and is a young man of sterling character.  he is a member of the Maydole Hose company.  Both young people have many friends who wish them great happiness.  Mr. and Mrs. Tefft will reside in Norwich.
