Harriet Flowers Russell

Mrs. Harriet Flowers, wife of P.L. Russell, died at he home in North Norwich [Chenango Co., NY], January 1st, 1892. She was born in Ulster County, April 4th, 1825, where the major portion of her life was passed. Twenty-two years ago, she and her husband removed to North Norwich. She was a devoted Christian woman and was greatly loved and respected by friends and acquaintances. She is survived by her husband and two sons, William F. Russell and Edward P. Russell, the latter a resident of Middletown, but well known in Norwich. Her funeral was attended Sunday in the Union Church, Rev. F.B. Olmstead, of this village officiating. Interment at North Norwich.
Mrs. J.H. Burdick

Mrs. J.H. Burdick died at her home in Syracuse [Onondaga Co., NY] Friday last at the age of 64 years. She was the daughter of Abel Chandler and was born at Pitcher Springs [Chenango Co., NY]. For a number of years she resided in Norwich. She was a sister of Mrs. George W. Denslow, and mother of Charles H. Burdick of this village, besides whom three daughters mourn her loss, Mrs. A.J. E. Cook and Misses Mary And Ella Burdick, of Syracuse. Funeral services were held at her late residence in Syracuse Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The remains were brought here Monday morning. Burial in Mt. Hope [Norwich, Chenango Co., NY], brief services being conducted by Rev. Henry D. Stebbins.
Mrs. Paul R. Miner

This venerable and highly respected lady died at the residence of her son-in-law, Andrew J. Beebe, Esq., in South Broad Street [Norwich, Chenango Co., NY], Sunday morning. She had been very ill for several days and a fatal termination was anticipated. She had reached the age of 76 years. She is survived by her husband, Paul R. Miner, and her only daughter, Mrs. Andrew J. Beebe, to whom the sympathy of the entire community is extended. her funeral will be held today Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Oxford [Chenango Co., NY].
Benjamin Z. Colton

For the last three weeks, Benjamin Z. Colton has been dangerously ill with typhoid fever. From almost the first, no hope of his recovery was entertained. Saturday afternoon the end came. He was 44 years of age and is survived by his widow and two children. Mr. Colton has resided in this village only a few years, removing here from South New Berlin. His funeral was held Monday morning, Rev. E.B. Olmstead officiating. His remains were taken to South New Berlin [Chenango Co., NY] for interment.
Charles Anable
Afton Enterprise, February 26, 1926
Charles W Anable of North Afton [Chenango Co., NY] who has been ill for several months passed away Wednesday, February 17th. Mr. Anable was born in Illinois and was 78 years of age. Deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Anable. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 1:30 from his late home conducted by the Rev W. D. Lathrop. Burial was in the North Afton cemetery beside their only child, Royal, who died twenty-one years ago.
Dr. DeWitt Crumb

South Otselic [Chenango Co., NY]: At the home of his son, Dr. J.M. Crumb, in this village, Wednesday, April 15, 1908, occurred the death of Dr. DeWitt Crumb, one of the best known physicians of the older school in this county. Dr. Crumb had been ill for several months, his rugged constitution yielding slowly to the inroads of the fatal disease. Few physicians of Central New York were more widely or favorably known than Dr. Crumb. He was a veteran of the Civil War and in his practice was conspicuous for the same earnest devotion to duty which characterized his distinguished services on the field. No ride by day or night was so arduous as to tempt him to neglect a patient's call despite the physical suffering the response oft gave him because of his own physical condition. Dr. Crumb was born in the town of Preston [Chenango Co., NY], 63 years ago. His wife was Miss Amelia G. Janes, a Preston girl. To them were born two children. Mary E., wife of Dr. J. Perry Horle, and Dr. J. Mott Crumb of South Otselic. Dr. Crumb was a member of county district and state medical societies. he was a member, past master and past secretary of South Otselic lodge No. 659, F.&A.M. Norwich commandery, No. 46, K.T. Lake Ontario Consistory No. 12, A.A.S.R. and of Cascadilla lodge, I.O.O.F. of which he was past grand. He was also a member of J.E. Parce Post, no. 456, GA.R. and a past commander of that body and was a delegate from the state body to several National G.A.R. Encampments. Funeral services will be held from the home of his son, Dr. J. Mott Crumb in this village Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Burial will be in charge of the South Otselic Masonic lodge.
Charlotte M. Fisher

South Otselic [Chenango Co., NY]: Mrs. Charlotte M. Fisher, wife of John Fisher died at her home in this village Jan. 18, 1909, aged 57 years, 11 months, and 18 days. she had been in poor health for a number of years. Deceased is survived by her husband, a daughter, Alice, and two sons. Arthur of South Otselic and Milton, of Hardy, Neb., also two sisters, Mrs. Louisa Johnson of Homer and Mrs. Cornelius Steele of DeRuyter and three brothers, Newton Cone of Cortland and Monroe Cone and Marc Cone of DeRuyter. The funeral services will be held at the house today (Thursday) at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. F. M. Purdy officiating. Funeral Director Woodley will conduct the burial in Valley View Cemetery [South Otselic, NY]. The sympathy of the community is extended to the grief stricken family.
