We take the following from the Binghamton Republican the lady spoken of was a daughter-in-law of Mr. George A. Davidson of this village [Greene, Chenango Co. NY].
Mrs. Lottie B. [Davidson] wife of Dr. R.T. Davidson and eldest daughter of John B. Wentz, Esq. Binghamton, N.Y. [Broome Co. NY], died in the city of Brooklyn June 25th, 1879, in the 25th year of her age. She was converted about six years ago and maintained a uniformly persistent Christian character until God took her. On the 3d day of July 1877, she was married to R.T. Davidson, M.D. of Brooklyn, N.Y. She looked forward to usefulness as his helpmate and seemed eminently fitted for her position. Her life, though short, yet in all the essential elements of a finished life was a grand success. In her home she was a perpetual benediction, in the social circle always a blessing. She possessed a clear and cultivated intellect, remarkable executive ability for one of her years and distinguished herself as a successful teacher in the public schools in the city of Binghamton prior to her marriage. That she was beloved by a wide circle is evinced by the universal sorrow expressed at her early demise and the long catalogue of her virtues which none tire of repeating. Her broad Christian love and the many brave, kind deeds which her loving heart was ever suggesting, her mind systematizing and her willing hands accomplishing, have left their impress upon all with whom she associated.
None knew her but to love her, / None named her but to praise.
Her young husband walks amid the shadows. The hearts of her parents and only sister are filled with sorrow. A precious little babe bearing its mother's name, forms a golden link between the loved one gone before and the friends which remain. A reunion awaits them. A. Griffin.

On Tuesday afternoon of last week, As Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Carter were on their way home, a short distance above this village [Greene, Chenango Co. NY], their horse became frightened at the cars, when in the vicinity of Mr. William F. Russell's residence and ran, tipping the carriage over, throwing the aged couple out upon the ground with great violence. Mrs. Carter received very bad bruises about the head and face, and Mr. Carter had a shoulder blade and one or two ribs broken, besides being injured otherwise internally. They were cared for by physicians and the neighbors and finally taken home. Mr. Carter lingered along until Monday morning, when death put an end to his sufferings. Mrs. Carter is improving. Mr. Carter was an old and respected resident of this town, and his death will be mourned by a large circle of friends.
