At the Chenango County Circuit Court [NY] last week, Albert Anderson was indicted for maliciously poisoning William Brooks of New Berlin [Chenango Co. NY]; and John C. Mosher and four ladies of Mt. Upton [Chenango Co. NY] were indicted for an assault and battery upon Catharine Strain of that place, in May last.  Catharine kept a millinery shop and received the attention of divers married men, whereat their weaker vessels grew indignant, went to her shop and tore the ribbons and other materials in the place into smithereens. They rather strained a point in taking the law into their own hands.
