Death
It is with feelings of regret that we announce to the public, the death of the Hon. Jedediah Peck. He expired at his residence in this town [Burlington, Otsego Co. NY] on Wednesday the 15th instant, in the 74th year of his age, of a paralysis. Judge Peck had long been a resident of this county and has occupied a large space in society. He for many years discharged the duties of various civil officers and particularly that of representative in both branches of the legislature with honor to himself and his country and his loss will be materially felt. He was a patriot of the Revolution, and his political life has been marked with prudence and integrity. His dealings have been just, and the indigent have ever found in him a friend and benefactor. He was indeed made up of those qualities which constitute a valuable and respectable citizen. His sun has set in a serene sky. He died in a good old age and rests in the bosom of his God.
