In this dispensation of Providence, a kind and affectionate wife with eight children, have been deprived of their nearest & dearest earthly friend upon whom they fondly confided for their sustenance.  Mr. Murphy had numerous acquaintances to whom he always proved himself a kind and faithful friend.  He was the eldest son of the celebrated Timothy Murphy, whose services and valor in the defense of our country from the destroying hand of a foreign and domestic foe remain to be read in the annals of our country with pride to every true patriot and friend of liberty.

In Meredith [Delaware Co. NY] on the 3d inst. after a severe illness of four or five days, Mr. Franklin Brown aged 30 years, son of Mr. Luke Brown.  Mr. B. was married about three weeks since. Thus, we face the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death.

In the village of Auburn [Cayuga Co. NY] on the 26th ult. at the age of three years, Julia Frances [Marvine] only child of Edward E. Marvine, Esq.

Few children of her years could be removed from so large a circle of doating relatives and friends under more painfully interesting circumstances.  Time alone can wear out the recollections. The grace of God only can allay, as we are confident it does in this case, in aching bosoms, the pangs of such a bereavement.

She's gone, her father took her home / To dwell with seraphs near his throne; / She's gone, a golden harp to string, / and swell the song "To Christ the king"
