Deaths

In Meredith [Delaware Co. NY] on the 17th instant, in the 26th year of her age, Miss Mary Burr, eldest daughter of Isaac Burr, Esquire.  Overtaken in early life with protracted, unyielding disease, she sunk gradually to her tomb.  Her sufferings severe and long continued, were yet softened by the religion she professed and the hopes she cherished in the Saviour.  And these seemed the last solace of her expiring hours.   Her relatives, hence, may mourn, but not as those that mourn without hope.

In South Worcester, Otsego County [NY] on the 10th ult. Mrs. Ann Hartwell, wife of Alanson Hartwell, in the 20th year of her age.  She died of typhus fever.  Mrs. H. possessed an intelligent mind which she retained unto the last and died in possession of that hope in immortality which disrobed death of its sting, and the grave of its terrors. She was an affectionate wife a tender mother and was unusually esteemed by all who knew her.  She has left  a husband and two children and a numerous circle of connection and friends to mourn her early departure.

At the same place, on the morning of the 21st ult. Mrs. E. Frier wife of Mr. Henry Frier, aged 61 years, also of typhus fever.
