1843 - 1910

Norwich [Chenango Co., NY]:  Neighbors of Samuel M. Tiffany, who lived alone on the road from this village to Oxford, a short distance from that place, not seeing him about for several days, made an investigation Thursday morning and found him dead at his home.  He was last seen alive Wednesday, July 13, and had evidently been dead since that time.  When found the body was fully clothed and was lying partly on his bed death having evidently come suddenly from heart disease while he was sitting on the edge of the bed.  Mr. Tiffany was born in Hamden, Delaware county, and was 68 years of age.  He had resided in this vicinity about 14 years and since the death of his wife, six years ago, had resided most of the time with his sons.  A few months ago he leased the small place near Oxford and went there to live, working for the neighboring farmers.  He is survived by two sons, Orson, of this village, and Seth, of Oxford, and has a brother and sister living in Oneonta. The remains were brought to this village and the funeral will be held from the home of his son on State street.

Arthur Hendrickson, aged 66 years, died Friday, January 3, 1941, at the home on Academy Street [Afton, Chenango Co., NY].  The survivors are his wife, Mrs. Delia B. Hendrickson, three brothers, Clark, Delos and Lewis, also one sister, Mrs. Ida H. Champlain, and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Colwell Brothers Funeral Home in Bainbridge.

Clark Hendrickson died at his home on Caswell Street [Afton, Chenango Co., NY], Saturday morning at 5:00 a.m.  Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Tabor’s Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas officiating.  He is survived by his wife Augusta, a grandson Richard, son Leon, two brothers, Delos Hendrickson of Johnson City and Lewis Hendrickson of Binghamton and one sister, Ida Champlin of Johnson City besides grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Burial was in East Side Cemetery, Afton.

A.T. Morgan age 69, of Afton [Chenango Co., NY] died in the Afton Hospital early Thursday morning following a long illness.  He is survived by his wife Viletta of Afton, two brothers, Frank of Afton R.D. 1 and Glen, of Afton, a niece Elizabeth of Binghamton, 3 nephews, Stuart of Utica, David, and Robert of Afton also survive.  Mr. Morgan was a member of the firm of Morgan Bros for 42 years.  The body was taken to the Karschner Funeral Home in Afton where friends may call and where the funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.  The Rev. James E. Wolfe and the Rev. C.B. Klinetob will officiate.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery [Afton, NY].

FRENCH:  In Pilot Mound Township, Minn., Dec. 21st, 1874, Mrs. French wife of C.W. French, Esq. formerly of Norwich [Chenango Co., NY], aged 54 years, 7 months.
