Mr. & Mrs. Alanson Bingham

Mr. and Mrs. Alanson Bingham celebrated their fiftieth anniversary or golden wedding, on Thursday last.  The children, five in number, were all present, and a very enjoyable time had.  Tears of joy and gratitude filled the eyes of all as they once more gathered around the board bountifully spread, that death had spared every one of them, and that the family circle was still unbroken.  [Bainbridge Republican, May 10, 1817]

Cornue - McNitt

 

Miss Ada Evelyn McNitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving D. McNitt of Arkport [Steuben Co., NY], was married Tuesday, June 22, to Clair M. Cornue of Hornell [Steuben Co., NY].  The ceremony was performed by the Rev. George E. Davies at the Presbyterian Manse in Auburn.  The double ring ceremony was used. The bride was attired in sheer navy with white accessories, and wore a corsage of gardenias. The couple were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Bowen of Seneca Falls.  Mrs. Bowen's dress was white with red trim and her corsage was of red roses.  Following the ceremony, a dinner was held for the wedding party at Krebs in Skaneateles, after which the couple left for Buffalo and Detroit, via the Great Lakes. The bride was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Keuka College, and is a member of the Hornell High School faculty.  The bridegroom holds a position with the Erie railroad.  Prenuptial parties included a crystal shower given by Mrs. Ernest Buck and Miss Ruth Richards a luncheon and shower by Miss Kathryn Tower and Mrs. Forrest Scott; a variety shower given by Mrs. Robert Clark of Aurora; and a luncheon by faculty members.
