Robert E. Lee, R.M. 2/C, LSM No. 258, was discharged from the Navy Apr. 7, at Lido Beach, after 31 months of service, and has arrived at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Lee. Petty Officer Lee took part in the invasion of Leyte, Ormac Bay, Mindoro, Mindanao, and Borneo. He holds the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with 3 stars, Philippine liberation Ribbon, with two stars, Victory Medal.
Milton Simonds Jr. Discharged from Navy

Milton R. Simonds, Jr., C.M. 3/C, has arrived at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton R. Simonds, after receiving his discharge from the Navy, Apr. 8, at Lido Beach, after 31 months of service. He served in Hawaii, Mariannas, and Okinawa, and holds the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, American Theatre, and Victory Medal.
John Newcott Discharged from Service

John Newcott, Sp. 2/C, U.S. Coast Guard, received his discharge at the Brooklyn Separation Center, Apr. 2, after almost four years of service. Serving on the USS General Black, he holds the European Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific, American Theatre, Good Conduct, and Victory Medal.
Sgt. Leonard Wearne Discharged from Army

Fort Leavenworth, Kans.: Discharged today from the Army at the Fort Leavenworth Separation Center under the adjusted service rating plan was Sgt. Leonard R. Wearne, son of Arthur Wearne, Front street, Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY]. Wearne is authorized to wear the Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbon and Victory Ribbon. Before entering the Army July 23, 1942, Wearne was employed as machinist at Sidney. His wife, the former Jessie Propst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Propst, of 314 S. Main street, Archbald, Pa., has been making her home at Archbald, Pa.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Install Officers

At an impressive ceremony conducted Friday evening, Mar. 29, the Leon R. Mott Post, #6511, of Veterans of Foreign Wars, was officially instituted. The installation and initiation ceremony was conducted by a team from the Richard J. Hoyt Post, #478, Binghamton, headed by District Deputy Ivan Cook, of Ithaca. The post comprises of 58 members, 54 of which are new members and four transfers from other posts. The commander wishes to congratulate the 33 members who made such an excellent showing at the initiation ceremony and to urge all those members who were not present to receive the obligation to make a special effort to attend the next meeting of the Post.
