Mr. and Mrs. Leo Nichols observe 50th anniversary:  Mr. and Mrs. Leo Nichols were the guests of honor at a luncheon Saturday at the Hotel DeCumber in Sidney [Delaware Co., NY] given by their children in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary which took place on Mar. 14.  Those present were their children and grandchildren which included:  Mr. and Mrs. Philip Ham and Miss Marjorie Ham, of Schenectady; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Thielking and children, Nancy and William, of Amsterdam; Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Cudworth and children, James and Gary, of Seneca Falls; and Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Nichols and sons, Kermit, Jonathan and Alan of Bainbridge; also Mr. Nichols' sister, Mrs. K.R. Jensen of Viborg, S. Dak., who spent last week at the Nichols home.

Fell - Taber

The marriage of Miss Elizabeth Matilda Taber, daughter of Mrs. Charles J. Taber and the late Mr. Taber, of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY] to Howard Carver Fell, son of Mr. and Mrs. O.T. Fell of Cleveland, Ohio, took place on June 29, at the home of the bride's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Cairns, at Glen Ridge, N.J.  The Rev. E.A. Slattery of the Immaculate Conception Church, of Montclair, N.J., performed the ceremony in a beautiful setting before an open fireplace banked with garden flowers and ferns.  The mothers of the bride and groom and a small group of relatives and close friends witnessed the marriage.  Mrs. Taber gave her daughter in marriage. The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. George E. and Miss Willa M. Thompson and Russell M. Fowler, both of New York City. After a short weddign trip, Mr. and Mrs Fell will reside at Phipps Garden Homes, Long Island City, L.I. The bride is a graduate of Bainbridge High School and the dietetics course of Mechanics Institute, Rochester, having received the Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University. Since then she has done administrative Dietetics work in various New York hospitals.  Mr. Fell attended Case School of Applied Science, Cleveland, University of Innsbruck Austria, and received the Bachelor of Arts degree form Youngstown College, Youngstown, Ohio.  He is a member of Sigma Nu social fraternity and Theta Tau honorary professional fraternity.  Mr. Fell is associated with the Republic Steel Corporation in their Export Division in New York City and is attending Fordham University law School.

Mr. Charles Pinney of Bennettsville, N.Y. [Chenango Co.], and Mrs. Winnie Randall of Vallonia Springs [Broome Co., NY], were united in marriage Jan. 29, 1903, at the home of the officiating clergyman, Rev. B.B. Carruth.  [Afton Enterprise, Feb. 5, 1903]

Married January 28th at the M.E. parsonage in Masonville [Delaware Co., NY] by Rev. G.G. McCheeney, Mr. Earle D. Pinney to Miss Lillie R. Whitney, both of Bennettsville. After a short visit with friends in Norwich and Smyrna, Mr. and Mrs. Pinney will reside in Bennettsville [Chenango Co., NY].  [Afton Enterprise, Feb. 5, 1903]

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Sherman, of Bainbridge, announce the engagement of their daughter, Vurla J. Sherman, to Robert A. Hitchcock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard A. Hitchcock, of 1506 Upper Front Street, Binghamton [Broome Co., NY].  Mr. Hitchcock is a veteran of four years' service in the U.S. Navy, now residing with his parents.
