BRABAZON: In Guilford [Chenango Co., NY], on the 8th inst. of consumption, Harriet [Brabazon], youngest and beloved daughter of Charles J. and Julia M. Brabazon, aged nineteen years. After months of suffering, patiently borne, the hour of release came, and with a fond farewell to those she loved so well, the daughter and sister went to her home beyond the stars.
"Her hands are cold, her face is white, / No more her pules come and go; / Her eyes are shut to life and light, / Fold the white vestures snow on snow, / And lay her where the violets blow.
If any born of kindly blood, / Should ask "what maiden lies below," / Say only this, "a tender bud / That tried to blossom neath the snow, / Lies withered where the violets blow."
