In this town [Greene, Chenango Co., NY], on the 11th inst., by Rev. I.B. Hyde, Mr. Eugene V. Hall, of Triangle [Broome Co., NY], to Miss Eliza Rathbone, daughter of Mr. Leveritt B. Rathbone.

In East Smithville [Chenango Co., NY], on the 8th inst., by Rev. E.H. Payson, Mr. Millard D. McNeil of Oxford [Chenango Co., NY] to Miss Mary A. Flagg, of Smithville.

In McDonough [Chenango Co., NY], on the 7th inst., by Rev. A.C. Smith, Mr. Eli Barrows to Miss Augusta Rathbone, both of McDonough.

Deaths

At Schuyler's Lake, Otsego Co. [NY], of diptheria, John Leman Garlick, son of Rev. H. Garlick, of this village [Greene, Chenango Co., NY], aged 7 years 7 months and 16 days.  Always a child of affliction, but he rests from them all. he sleeps in Jesus, a "Blessed sleep, from which none ever wakes to weep."  The care always bestowed upon him in consequence of his frail health, renders his loss more deeply felt by his afflicted parents, but we firmly believe that to him death is an eternal gain.

In this village [Greene, Chenango Co., NY], on the 12th inst. Mrs. Sarah N. Ireland, wife of Mr. Wm. S. Ireland, aged 62 years.

In this town [Greene, Chenango Co., NY], on the 18th inst., Mr. Patrick Dowd, aged 45 years.

In this town [Greene, Chenango Co., NY], on the 7th ins.t, Sheridan P. [Robinson], infant son of Uri Robinson, age 8 months.

A boy named Eugene Kelly was drowned in this village [Bainbridge, Chenango Co., NY], on Wednesday of last week, says the Bainbridge Ledger.  He was coasting near the river bridge when venturing too far, his sled ran off into the water.  The current being rapid, all attempts to rescue him proved futile.

A young man by the name of Curtis Eddy was killed by a falling tree while chopping in the woods near Afton [Chenango Co., NY], on the 7th inst.

We are pained to announce the sudden death of Philander B. Prindle, Esq., of Norwich [Chenango Co., NY], on Monday afternoon last.  He had seemed more than usually cheerful that afternoon, in conversation with his friends, and about 4 o'clock went to his office to transact some business.  Soon after, while conversing with his wash woman, he fainted and fell upon the floor.  Medical assistance was at once summoned, and life was found to be extinct.  His disease was pronounced to be Paralysis of the Heart.  Mr. Prindle was a man generally known and universally respected throughout the county, and his death will be deeply felt as a loss to the community of which he was a worthy member.
