Word has been received of the marriage of Miss Donna Hitchcock, daughter of Joseph Hitchcock, of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], to E.B. Hammond, Jr., March 22, at 4 P.M. in the Little Chapel, at Cambridge, Mass. Mrs. Hammond is a graduate of Bainbridge High School and of the Boston Conservatory of Music. Mr. Hammond is a graduate of a high school in North Carolina and of R.P.I. in Boston. The couple will make their home at Brooklyn, where Mr. Hammond has a government position. At 1 o'clock on Monday, April 14, occurred the marriage of Miss Magdalena Beyea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Beyea, of Susquehanna, Pa., to Elmer Hartz, of Windsor [Broome Co., NY]. The wedding was a lovely spring affair, and took place in the Episcopal Church at Susquehanna, Pa., with a reception following at the Colonial Inn, Riverside Drive, Susquehanna, to which the immediate members of both families and close friends were guests. Mrs. Hartz is a graduate R.N. of Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York City, and the groom holds a very desirable position in Sidney [Delaware Co., NY]. After a wedding trip to Washington, D.C., they will be at home to their friends in the Shelton Block, Guilford [Chenango Co., NY], where they have a fine apartment. Mrs. Hartz was a guest of honor at several prenuptial showers. Attending from Guilford were the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Burchard, and Miss Ethel Kniffin and the bride's aunt, Mrs. Mable Burchard, of Utica. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson E. Wilcox announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Margaret Claudine, to Clinton S. Wilcox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert C. Wilcox, of Bainbridge. Miss Wilcox is a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Elmira College, and Syracuse University. She has been librarian at the Central School for the past few years. At the present time Miss Wilcox holds the position of librarian at the Bainbridge Free Library. Mr. Wilcox was graduated from Bainbridge High School and RCA Institute, New York City. Dr. and Mrs. Henry Vail Dunham have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Elizabeth Vail Dunham, to John Frederick Corwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Corwin, of Orange, N.J. Miss Dunham is a graduate of Brentwood Hall, Bronxville, and of Wells College. Mr. Corwin was graduated form Hamilton College and the Graduate School of Yale University where he received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. He was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Mr. Corwin is director of research for the Casein Company, with which he has been associated for the past five years. The engagement was announced at a tea on Thursday afternoon, given by Mrs. Dunham, to a few intimate friends. Small corsages of spring flowers were presented to the guests as they arrived with the names of the engaged couple hidden in small silver slippers attached to the bouquets. The marriage of Miss Isabelle Bernadine Chamberlain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Chamberlain, of Sidney [Delaware Co., NY], to Kenneth L. Ramsdell, son of Louis Ramsdell, of Sidney, took place April 13, in the Methodist church at Sidney. The Rev. R.T. Henwood performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a street length dress of powder blue silk crepe and a sweetheart hat of white with a blue veil and carried a bouquet of white roses and snapdragons. Mrs. Fred Boardman, of Bainbridge, a cousin of the bride, was matron of honor, and she was attired in navy blue with navy accessories and carried pink roses and white snapdragons. The bride's mother wore dusty rose pink silk crepe and a corsage of sweet peas and roses. The best man was Kenneth DeMott, of Masonville, a close friend of the bridegroom, and Harvey Ferris and Charles Ryder, both of Masonville, acted as ushers. Mrs. R.T. Henwood, at the organ rendered the wedding marches. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride for relatives and close friends. Mrs. Ramsdell is a graduate of Oneonta High School and attended Syracuse Business School. Mr. Ramsdell was graduated from Sidney High School after which he attended Norwich College Northfield, Vt., and is now employed at the General Electric, Schenectady.
