Marriages (July 14)

Quimby-Grant:  On Sunday evening, December 26, at the home of Rev. and Mrs. H.M. Vore, Vivian Grant, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cary Grant; was married to Stephen Quimby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Quimby, all of Rogrs Hollow, Unadilla, N.Y. [Otsego Co., NY].  The young couple were attended by Herbert Grant and Ada Quimby, brother of the bride and sister of the groom, respectively.  The Newly-weds will make their home at the old Quimby homestead, which has been recently renovated for their use.  A large circle of friends and relatives extend congratulations and best wishes.  [Sidney Enterprise, Dec. 30, 1943]
 
The engagement of Miss Annette Margaret Harrington of Sidney [Delaware Co., NY] to Corp. Donald G. Shaver of Newark Valley [Tioga Co., NY], has been announced by her parents.  Corp. Shaver is at present stationed at Camp Marshall, N.C.  [Sidney Enterprise, Dec. 30, 1943]

Miss Mona Ann Hall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Hall, of Cambridge, Mass., became the bride of Pfc. Kenneth Raymond Lord, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lord, of Unadilla [Otsego Co., NY], on Sunday, Jan. 16, in a ceremony performed in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, with the Rev Harold S. Deacon officiating.  Mrs. Lord is a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin Schools and private First Class Lord is a graduate of Unadilla Central School.  He is now stationed at AT headquarters, New York City.  [Bainbridge News & Republican, Jan. 27, 1944]

Pickens-Saunders:  Miss Kathryn Helen Saunders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Saunders, Gilbertsville [Otsego Co., NY], and P.F.C. Sidney N. Pickens, son of Mrs. Arina Pickens, Morris [Otsego Co., NY], were married Thursday evening in the chapel of the Morris Methodist Church.  A reception followed at the home of the groom's mother.  The bride is employed at Scintilla, and the groom, stationed at Little Rock, Ark., is home on a 15-day furlough.  [Bainbridge News & Republican, Feb. 10, 1944]
