The death of this most estimable Christian lady removes from Cooperstown one who had greatly endeared herself to a large circle by her deeds of charity and kindness.  Her liberality to the poor and her willingness to aid in every worthy work, to minister to the sick and suffering, to answer every appeal in behalf of a good cause, were proverbial.  She was sincere and cheerful, devoted to her husband, her church and its interest and her large English heart beat in tender sympathy with all that might commend itself to the regard of a noble and genial soul. The death of such a woman is a loss to any community.
