Marriage

Milford, Otsego Co. NY:  On Monday eve, Dec. -?-, Mr. and Mrs. S.T. Pratt of this village, celebrated the 20th anniversary of their wedding.  Over 100 invitations were extended, most of which were accepted.  Among the guests we noticed Hon. David Wilber and lady, and Hon. John Eddy and lady.  An address of congratulations was delivered by Rev. S.C. Van Camp, the family's pastor, who in appropriate words conveyed the best wishes of their numerous friends.  After the address, he presented a handsome diamond ring to Mr. Pratt, who placed it upon the finger of his lady.  Prayer was offered b Rev. A.H. Richarson, who invited Divine blessing upon the parents and their three sons who stood by them during the ceremony.  Several valuable presents testified the find feelings of the visitors, among which were several handsome sets of china, fruit and tea service.  During the evening a lavish display of refreshments were served, characteristic of the generosity of the bride and bridegroom.  It was an occasion of great interest and enjoyment.  Everyone appeared happy, no more so than our esteemed friends, Mr. and Mrs. Pratt, who always give a hearty welcome to their friends and who in return enjoy the confidence and affection of the entire village.  May every blessing be theirs in the future as in the past, and each year more thoroughly qualify them for a reunion in yon heavenly home.

Last Wednesday evening, a large party assembled by invitation at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Carr near Toddsville [Otsego Co. NY] to witness the marriage ceremony of their daughter Miss Fannie Carr and Mr. John Hackley of the same town.  The couple received numerous presents from friends in attendance.  The ceremonies were performed by Rev. S.M. Cook of this place.

Death

Otsdawa, Otsego Co. NY:  The funeral services of Abner Brand were held at the residence of the deceased yesterday.
