Oxford [Chenango Co., NY]: A very delightful informal wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Miner last Thursday evening at 5:30 o'clock when their daughter, Maud E., was united in marriage to Charles Ernest Munyan, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Munyan, of this village. The guests were welcomed by the members of the family and by the bride and groom, the latter mingling with the company until the hour of service when Rev. T.W. Harris, pastor of the Congregational church, pronounced them man and wife. They are spending their honeymoon at Niagara Falls. [Bainbridge Republican, May 31, 1906]
Roy V. DeForest of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY] and Miss Mabel B. Dann of Unadilla [Otseog Co., NY] were united in marriage at the Methodist Episcopal parsonage on Tuesday evening by the Rev. Afton [Chenango Co., NY]: Wm. Lawrence, a popular employee at the Borden plant, and Mabel Waterman, operator in the telephone exchange, were married Wednesday evening Feb. 14, 1906, driving to Nineveh where the ceremony was performed by Rev. Miss Ethelyn Violet Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn H. Smith, of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], and Lloyd C. Tyler, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Tyler, of Rome, were united in marriage Easter Sunday morning at 9:15 in the Elm Park Methodist Church, Oneonta. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Paul L. Hulslander, pastor of the church. Mrs. Floyd Baker, organist, played a program of wedding music throughout the service. The altar was attractive with Easter flowers and lighted tapers in candelabra. The bride wore a suit of air force blue wool with white accessories and corsage of white roses. The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Tyler. Mrs. Tyler is a graduate of Bainbridge High School and is employed in the Engineering Department of the Scintilla Magneto Division Mr. Tyler is a graduate of R.F.A, an air pilot of the Civil Air Patrol, and is employed by the Scintilla. Miss Mary T. Payne, of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], was united in marriage at 12 o'clock noon, Thursday, Apr. 20, 1944, to Sgt. Walter D. Wasson. The ceremony took place in St. Peter's Episcopal Church at Bainbridge with the rector, the Rev. James M. Wolfe, officiating. The bride is the daughter of Chenango County Treasurer Harold L. Payne and Mrs. Payne, of 2 Juliand street, Bainbridge. The bridegroom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. David Wasson, of 130 East First street, Corning. The bride was escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father. Her only attendant was her cousin, Mrs. Jack Gillette, of Skaneateles. Raymond Wasson, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Mrs. Bryce Blakeley played the traditional wedding marches. The bride wore a brown fitted wool suit, white blouse, chartreuse hat and brown accessories. Her corsage was of white gardenias. Her matron of honor was attired in a blue fitted wool suit and wore a corsage of white gardenias. Following the ceremony a luncheon was served at the DeCumber Hotel in Sidney. Later Sgt. and Mrs. Wasson left for a few days' honeymoon Sgt. Wasson is stationed at Gila Bend Army Air Field, Ariz. Mrs. Wasson was graduated form the Afton Central School and Syracuse University, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. She has taught for the last two years at Earlville and next year will be English instructor at Oxford Academy. The bridegroom was graduated form Corning Free Academy and in 1941 from Syracuse University, where he was a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity....[Bainbridge News & Republican, Apr. 27, 1944]
