Martin L. Scanlon and Miss Catherine E. Foy,
Who Are Now Receiving the Congratulations of Many Friends
Popular Norwich Young People United in Hymen's Bonds

Norwich [Chenango Co., NY]:  St. Paul's Church was the scene of two wedding ceremonies on Tuesday afternoon, the first being the marriage of Martin L. Scanlon and Miss Catherine E. Foy, the hour of which was 3:30.  Rev. James P. Foy, pastor of St. James' Church, of Lestershire, a brother of the bride officiated.  The maid of honor was Miss Anna Murphy, of Utica, and the groom's brother, James P. Scanlon, was best man.  After the ceremony the happy couple and their friends repaired to the home of the bride on Rexford street, where a wedding dinner was served.  There were many handsome and valuable presents including checks for substantial sums from the bride's brothers and gold from a friend.  Both bride and groom are popular young people of Norwich.  The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Malachi Scanlon and is local manager for the Metropolitan Life Insurance company. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Foy and is a most charming young lady and has a host of friends. She is an active worker in the church and its various societies.  Hearty congratulations are extended to both.  Mr. and Mrs. Scanlon left on the afternoon train for a brief wedding tour and upon their return will make their home with the bride's parents at 44 Rexford street.
