Joel Guy

Bainbridge Republican, May 17, 1899

Afton [Chenango Co., NY]:  Joel Guy, the venerable father of Chas. and J.M. Guy, died at the home of the former son after an illness of several weeks.  Mr. Guy has been a life long resident of this place and was a man highly respected by all who knew him. The funeral was held Tuesday, May 9th from his late home.  His age was about 85 years.

William Barr

Bainbridge Republican, May 17, 1899

Afton [Chenango Co., NY]:  Last Saturday morning were held the funeral services of William Barr at his late home on Long Hill near Afton.  He died the Wednesday previous of diabetes, aged 33 years.  He is survived by his wife and two sons, and leaves also a mother, five brothers and four sisters.

Dilla (Woods) Scott

Bainbridge News, October 20, 1955

Mrs. Dilla Scott Died in Unadilla [Otsego Co., NY].  Mrs. Dilla (Woods) Scott, 79, died suddenly Saturday night in her home on Martin Brook street, Unadilla.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Harold Sherman Home, Bainbridge.  The Rev. Homer Weatherbee, pastor of the Unadilla Baptist church officiated. Burial was in the North Afton Cemetery.  Mrs. Scott was born July 7, 1876, in Union Valley, daughter of William and Sovilla Woods. She was married to Victor Scott in 1903, who died several years ago.  Mrs. Scott lived in Unadilla the last 43 years and was a member of the Unadilla Baptist church. Surviving is a brother, Isaac Woods of Bainbridge, a son, Donald Scott, of Unadilla, and several nieces and nephews.

SHOALES:  In Plymouth [Chenango Co., NY], August 27th, Byron B. [Shoales], son of Newton and De France Shoales, aged 15 months and 7 days.

MOORE:  In Oxford [Chenango Co., NY], September 2d, Mr. John Moore, aged 75 years.

BOWERS:  At the County Home, in Preston [Chenango Co., NY] August 31st, Susan Bowers, aged 67 years, formerly of Oxford.

OWENS:  In Binghamton [Broome Co., NY], August 25th, Gracie [Owens], daughter of L.S. Owens, aged 3 years and 25 days, formerly of Bainbridge.

CORBIN:  In Hart, Mich., August 22d, Mr. Lyman B. Corbin, aged 66 years, formerly of Bainbridge.

NEWTON:  In La Fayette, Ind., September 1st, Julia [Newton], wife of Erastus Newton, formerly of Sherburne.
