Death of Rev. B. McCabe:  Father McCabe, a well known Catholic priest, and late of Oxford [Chenango Co., NY], was burned to death at Malone, N.Y. [Franklin Co.], while lying in his bed, on the 24th ult., owing to the clothes which covered him taking fire.  The fire was confined to the bedroom, and nothing was known of the lamentable affair until next morning when his body was discovered by another priest, who had slept in an adjoining room.  

Married:  In Greene [Chenango Co., NY], on the 18th ult., by Rev. A.B. Jones, Mr. Norman Porter of Coventry [Chenango Co., NY] to Miss Mary Ersly, of the former place.

Died:  In Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], on the 22d ult., Hon. Joseph P. Chamberlain, aged 59 years.

Married:  In Morris, Otsego Co. [NY], on the 24th ult., by Rev. L.E. Spafford, Jehiel Spafford, of Greene [Chenango Co., NY], Mrs. R.E. Parker of Norwich [Chenango Co., NY].

Married:  In Greene [Chenango Co., NY], on the 3d inst., by Rev. D.C. Dutcher, Mr. Charles Dilley of Binghamton [Broome Co., NY] to Miss Susan J. Turk, of the former place.

Died:  In Oxford [Chenango Co., NY], on the morning of the 4th inst. of Croup, Willie Augustus [Bundy], only son of Edward A. and Esther E. Bundy, aged 1 year, five months and twenty-three days.

Died:  In Greene [Chenango Co., NY], on the 30th ult. of consumption, Miss Jennie H. [Beckwith], daughter of S.S. and Hannah Beckwith, aged 20 years.

Died:  in Greene [Chenango Co., NY[, on the 27th ult, Mrs. Nancy Judd, wife of Noah Judd, aged 72 years.

Died:  In Greene [Chenango Co., NY], on the 20th ult., George Hagaman, aged 36 years.

Died:  In Greene [Chenango Co., NY], on the 1st inst., Maurice Paddleford, aged 60 years.

Died:  In Brattleboro, Vt, on the 12th int., Mrs. Rebecca Hoyt, wife of Matthew S. Hoyt, of Coventry [Chenango Co., NY], aged 40 years.

Died:  In Smithville [Chenango Co., NY], on the 1st inst., Mr. Sylvanus Ballou, aged 90 years.

Died:  In Mt. Upton [Chenango Co., NY], on the 5th inst., Mr. E.A.B. Graves, aged 70 years.

Died:  In Guilford [Chenango Co., NY], on the 16th inst., Mrs. Lucretia Stockwell, aged 81 years.

Died:  In Guilford [Chenango Co., NY], on the 29th inst., Mr. Frederick Beebe, aged 24 years.

Died:  In Salsbury, Tenn. on 2d inst., Mr. Riverias B. Humphrey, son of Sylvester Humphrey of Guilford [Chenango Co., NY], aged 47 years.

Died:  In Greene [Chenango Co., NY], on the 13th inst., Mr. Enoch Gray, aged 74 years.

Married:  In this village [Oxford, Chenango Co., NY], on the 24th inst., by Rev. J.G. Bartholomew, Mr. William S. Thompson, of the firm of Fox, Read & Thompson to Miss Kate E. Fox, both of this village.

Married:  In Guilford [Chenango Co., NY], on the 13th inst., by Rev. L. Yale, Mr. Cyrus Crandall of Guilford to Miss Lydia M. Parker of Masonville [Delaware Co., NY].

Married:  In Preston [Chenango Co., NY], on the 24th inst. by Rev. J.G. Bartholomew, Mr. Smith W. Brown to Miss Ellen M. Lewis, both of Preston.

Died:  In this village [Oxford, Chenango Co., NY], on the morning of the 25th inst., Mary [Bacon], wife of Cyrus A. Baron, Esq., in the 65th year of her age.  Mrs. Bacon was one of the very few left to us of the early inhabitants of our village.  Possessed of a cheerful, serene and happy disposition, she was the mainspring of family joy and happiness, and respected and beloved by all with whom she associated. During a long severe and very painful illness, she preserved her usual, equanimity of temper and disposition, and even when exercised with pain amounting almost to torture, she remained calm, mindful of the happiness of those around her, encountered her heavy affliction with cheerfulness and resignation and went to her rest mourned and lamented by all, with however the comforting dispense left to them, that their loss was her great gain.

Died:  In North Norwich [Chenango Co., NY], on the 16th inst., Dea. Ebenezer Hartwell, aged 89 years.

Died:  In Sherburne [Chenango Co., NY], on 12th inst., Mr. Ezra Huntley, aged 78 years.

Died:  In Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], on the 24th inst., Mr. Frederick Wood, aged 84 years.

Died:  In Greene [Chenango Co., NY], on the 8th(?) inst., Mr. William Bennett, aged 73 years.

Died:  In Norwich [Chenango Co., NY], on the 11th inst., Mrs. Anna [-?-] aged 78 years.

Died:  In Plymouth [Chenango Co., NY], on the 15th inst., Mr. David Sharfoon(?), aged 84 years.

Died:  In Otselic [Chenango Co., NY], on the 17th inst., Mr. William W. Monroe, aged 70 years.
