STEBBINS:  In Plymouth [Chenango Co., NY], April 29th, Mrs. Elisha Stebbins, aged 32 years.

MANLEY:  In East Greene [Chenango Co., NY], May 6th, Miss Sarah A. Manley, aged 19 years.

CUMBER:  In Binghamton [Broome Co., NY], May 5th, Caroline [Cumber], wife of John Cumber, formerly of Oxford [Chenango Co., NY], aged 64 years.

GATES:  In New Haven, Conn., May 8th, of scarlet fever, Hattie A. [Gates], daughter of Henry and Julia A Gates, aged 4 years, 2 months and 14 days, formerly of this town [Norwich, Chenango Co., NY].

BARKER - FRANKLIN:  At the Hotel in Plymouth [Chenango Co., NY], on Sunday evening, May 15th, by Rev. Richard Hiorns, Mr. Sylvenus W. Barker, to Miss Julia A. Franklin, both of Plymouth.

BRESEE - VEDDER:  In Schenectady [Schenectady Co., NY], May 12th, by Rev. H.G. Day, Mr. Herbert Y. Bresee, of Suspension Bridge, formerly of Sherburne [Chenango Co., NY], to Miss Grace A. Vedder, of Schenectady.

PHILLIPS - WINSOR:  At the residence of the bride's parents, near Mt. Upton [Chenango Co., NY], May 11th, by Rev. McK. Shaw, Mr. Reuben W. Phillips of Morris [Otsego Co., NY], to Mrs. Ruth C. Winsor, of Butterntus [Otsego Co., NY].

Silver Wedding:  Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Slater of this village [Norwich, Chenango Co., NY] celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary of their marriage on Friday evening last.  A large party of friends assembled at their residence and the occasion was an enjoyable one, in every particular.

Deaths

COLTON:  In this village [Norwich, Chenango Co., NY], on Friday, May 20th, Keturah R. Colton, daughter of Dea. Charles Randall, and the beloved consort of Bela B. Colton, Esq.  She was born in Norwich April 27th, 1811, her mother dying a few hours afterwards.  At twenty years of age, she made a public profession of religion, united with the Baptist church of this village, by baptism at the hands of Rev. J.S. Swan, with ten others, among whom were a brother and sister now deceased.  In October, 1832, she was married to Mr. Colton, who, with two sons, are left to feel their great loss.  Mrs. Colton was a woman of rare excellence of character.  In all the relations of life, as daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend and neighbor, she fulfilled well and faithful her part, adorning her Christian profession by that meek and quiet spirit which is, in the sight of God, of great price, and meriting by her uniform kindness, the praise bestowed by inspired wisdom on the virtuous and good woman.  Her last illness was borne with fortitude, in patient waiting for the call of Him she supremely loved, and with whom her spirit now sweetly rests.  She will be missed and her memory cherished by a large circle of relatives and friends.

MASON:  In this village [Norwich, Chenango Co., NY], May 18th, Mr. Olmsted Mason, aged about 40 years.

WILSON:  In Pitcher [Chenango Co., NY], May 15th, Mrs. Carolien Wilson, widow of the late John L. Wilson, aged 56 years.

BURKE:  In South New Berlin [Chenango Co., NY], May 16th, Daniel [Burke], son of Rickard and Mary Burke, aged 15 years and 2 months.

KENT:  In Guilford Centre [Chenango Co., NY], May 4th, Mrs. Philinda kent, aged 87 years and 25 days.

WINTER:  In Greene [Chenango Co., NY], May 13th, Mr. William Winter, aged 80 years.

CONVERSE:  In Coventry [Chenango Co, NY], May 13th, Mrs. Betsey Converse, wife of Rufus Converse, deceased, aged 79 years.

Death of Mattie Fitzpatrick:  We copy the following from a letter received by us on Monday, from Charles Weiler, formerly of this village [Norwich, Chenango Co., NY], who is in the office of the North Missouri Railroad Company, at Moberly, Mo.:  "In the recent Indian raid on Kit Carson station - the present terminus of the Kansas Pacific Railroad - Mathew Fitzpatrick, the operator in charge of the deport, was killed.  "Mattie" will be remembered by all the young people of Norwich, as the bright, pleasant little operator in "Weller's News Depot," some three years ago."
