In Cherry Valley [Otsego Co. NY] July 8th, George Scott aged 87 years.
In Unadilla [Otsego Co. NY] July 7th, Mrs. Sophia Bristol aged 62 years.
In Cherry Valley [Otsego Co. NY] June 30th 1879, Stephen M. Sherman in the 73d year of his age.
In Roseboom [Otsego Co. NY] July 6th, Hannah Yendley in the 84th year of her age.
In Middlefield, July 12th, B. Gifford [Hunter] son of S.W. and Kate W. Hunter, aged 1 year 3 mos. and 13 days.
In Westford [Otsego Co. NY], July 6th, Nicholas Hanker aged 42 years. He enlisted in Co. G 121st Regt N.Y. Vols in August 1862. By the middle of September, he was on the battle fields of South Mountain and Antietam. From that time till the close of the war he marched under the banner of that glorious regiment and upon his heart was engraved the history of all its hardships, its battles and its triumphs.
Clintonville, Clinton Co. NY: Two of the sick mentioned before have died, Charles and Abby Bradley. Mr. George Clinton had the diptheria severely but is about again. The same is true of Miss Edna Bradley. There seems to be no indications of any further spread of the disease. Prompt action was taken by the inhabitants to look after such places as have a tendency to cause its spread. No new cases reported since the 3d inst.
