On The Death of H.C. Scott
They have called him home, the angels of love, / He has gone to the beautiful realms above. / He now is at rest on the golden shore, / We shall see his face on earth no more.
Away from the home he loved so sell, / Oh, their grief no one can tell; / The loss of a husband, father, grandpa, dear, / the loss of one who to them was so near.
They will miss him at the evening hour / His death was like the sudden thunder shower, / Gently, tenderly they laid him to rest, / Forever with God's chosen in the land of the blest.
We shall see him no more as in days of yore, / For the angles have borne him to the golden shore; / they beckoned him on to the shining strand, / Where saints were waiting to clasp his hand.
We shall meet him again when our days are ore, / When we leave this earth for the beautiful shore, / We then will beet to be parted never, / On the beautiful banks of the gleaming river.
