Marriages (July 15)

Miss Mary Dowd and Charles J. Neidlinger were married at the parsonage of Trinity Memorial church, Binghamton [Broome Co., NY], yesterday afternoon, by the Rev. J.H. LaRoche.  Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Neidlinger left for a wedding tour to New York and other eastern points. the bride is one of the most popular young ladies of Binghamton, having been employed by Sisson Bros. & Welden for a long time.  She is a young lady of many accomplishments and the best wishes of the groom's many Sidney friends is extended to the young couple.  the groom is one of our well-known business men.--Sidney Advocate.  Charles Neidlinger conducted a meat market in Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY] before going to Sidney [Delaware Co., NY].  His old patrons offer congratulations.  [Bainbridge Republican, May 3, 1899]

Afton [Chenango Co., NY]:  Miss Thelma May Guy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph C. Guy of Afton was married to Richard John Davies, son of the Rev. and Mrs. John N. Davies of Deansboro at the home of the bride's parents on South Main street, Afton, Thanksgiving Day.  The ceremony as performed at 11 o'clock by the Rev. Lester D. Huxtable, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Afton.  Miss Eleanor Roemer of Deposit was bridesmaid and Kenneth B. Guy of Afton, brother of the bride, was best man.  Twenty people were present at the wedding....The bride has been engaged as a nurse at hospitals and places in this section for the last five years.  Mr. Davies is a mechanical engineer and is employed in the Scintilla plant at Sidney.  He is a graduate of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  [LMD notation:  1933]

The wedding of Miss Addie Louise Fletcher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fletcher of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], and Alfred Paul Hohreiter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hohreiter, also of Bainbridge, was solemnized in St. John's church at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, October 320.  Rev. Henry L. Contois officiated at the ceremony and celebrated the nuptial mass.  The double ring service was used.  Earl Leonard was organist.  The church was attractively decorated with lilies and pompon chrysanthemums.  The bride was very pretty in her white satin gown with a three foot train and her veil of tulle extending from a cluster of orange blossoms.  She carried a white carved pearl prayer book to which was fastened a spray of gardenias with lilies of the valley and pompon chrysanthemums falling from ribbon streams.  Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Hohreiter left for a wedding trip.  For traveling the bride wore a wool suit of dubonnet with stone blue accessories.  Mr. and Mrs. Hohreiter will reside in Bainbridge, where they have their home ready for occupancy.  [LMD notation:  1937]
