Ray Lyon
Afton Enterprise, June 7, 1928
North Afton [Chenango Co., NY]:  This community was deeply saddened to earn of the death of Ray Lyon at the home of his mother, Mrs. H.D. Lyon on Monday evening of this week.  Ray was a former student of the Afton High School.  He tried several times to enlist in the army but was not accepted as he had a very weak heart. Ray had been working in Binghamton for some time.  The deep sympathy of the entire community goes out to Mrs. Lyon and family.  He is survived by his mother, a brother, Earl, of Cortland, a sister, Miss Blanche, a teacher in a Long Island school.

Gertrude (Bush) Miner

Guilford [Chenango Co., NY]:  Mrs. Frank Miner after months of suffering passed away at her home at West Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY] Monday night.  The funeral was attended from the home Thursday and the body was brought here for burial in the Guilford cemetery. The most of her married life had been spent here, where she had many friends.  Of her immediate family the husband and one daughter Bessie, survive her, also her mother, Mrs. Richard Bush besides a brother and sisters.
Lila Aldrich

Mrs. Lila Aldrich, aged 71, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the Maple Park Home, Vernon Center [Oneida Co., NY], after a long illness.  She is survived by her husband, Lester Aldrich, one daughter, Mrs. Robert Patton of Oneonta, two sons, William Aldrich of Seneca Falls, Marshal Aldrich of Washington, D.C. and one brother, Jesses Norton of Norwich. The funeral will be held at The Maple Park Home at 1 p.m. Friday with burial in the White Store cemetery [Chenango Co., NY].

Nellie Miller
Died February 7, 1941, Guilford, NY
The funeral of Mrs. Nellie Miller wife of Fred Miller who died at the family home on Shumway Hill on Feb. 7th, was held from the late home last Monday afternoon, with burial at Mt. Upton [Chenango Co., NY].  Besides her husband, Mrs. Miller is survived by three sons, Arthur of Richfield Springs, and Harold and Robert of Mt. Upton, two grandsons, a brother, Charles Greene, of Guilford, and a sister, Mrs. Ward Pearsall of Mt. Upton.

Mary E. (Hill) Folts
Died March 24, 1939, Morris, NY
Mrs. Mary E. Folts, widow of William Folts, died at her home in Morris [Otsego Co., NY] at 4 o'clock Friday morning of cerebral hemorrhage. She had been in failing health for the past few months.  Mrs. Folts was born in the town of New Berlin [Chenango Co., NY], Nov. 9, 1877, a daughter of the late Louis B. and Mary Babcock Hill. Surviving is one daughter, Mary, who has resided with her mother since the death of Mr. Folts several years ago. The funeral services were held at the residence on Monday at 1 o'clock with burial at New Berlin.

In this village [Greene, Chenango Co., NY], on the 25th inst., Alice G. Seneare, aged 4 years, 6 months and 12 days.

In this town [Greene, Chenango Co., NY], on the 14th inst., John W. [Hills], eldest son of James B. and Maria Hills, aged 10 years and 10 months.
Lord, what is life, tis like a flower
That blossoms and is gone;
We see it flourish for an hour
With all its beauty on.
But death comes like a wintry day
And takes the pretty flower away.

In Coventry [Chenango Co., NY] on the 14th inst., Delos Foot, son of Benj. Foot, aged 4 years and 6 months.

In Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY] on the 17th inst., Mary E. Schrom, wife of Col. H. Schrom, and widow of the late Geo. M. Smith, aged 47 years.

In Norwich [Chenango Co., NY] on the 8th inst. after a brief illness, Mr. Joseph Chapel, in the 65th year of his age.

In Columbus [Chenango Co., NY], on the 1st inst., of Diptheria, Miss Mary A. Dutton, aged 17 years.
