In Oxford [Chenango Co., NY], on the 28th ult., by Rev. J.C. Ransom, Mr. Chas. F. Huntley, to Miss Percia Gault, both of German [Chenango Co., NY].

Deaths

In this village [Greene, Chenango Co., NY], on the 28th ult. Dea. Willis Forbes, aged 59 years.  The deceased not only leaves a circle of relatives to mourn his loss, but the community and especially the church of which he had been a member and served as Deacon for years, feel his loss.  He was uniformly consistent in his Christian walk.  He was always regular and constant in attendance upon the meetings of the church.  Without display he always was doing what good he found to do, and when death came stealing over him he could sing "all is well, all is well."  Though enduring extreme pain at times, he found consolation in the Christian's hope--surely "the godly man ceaseth and the faithful fall from among the children of men."

In Smithville [Chenango Co., NY], on the 2d inst., Mrs. Sarah M. [Wade], wife of H.S. Wade, and daughter of Charles B. and Mary Miller, aged 30 years.

In Afton [Chenango Co., NY], on the 28th ult., Mrs. Susan M. [Borden], wife of G.W. Borden, aged 48 years.

In Norwich [Chenango Co., NY], on the 1st inst., Mr. James H. Davis, aged 23 years.

Mrs. Addison Miller:  The death of this lady, cast a gloom over the neighborhood in which she lived, never before excelled by any event in its history.  She was an estimable lady, and her husband and friends, and the community generally mourn her untimely fate with heart felt grief.  Her funeral, which occurred on Thursday last, was a mournful one and indicated the love and respect in which she was held, the whole population of Ketchum's Corners and vicinity turning out en masse to pay the last sad rites to her memory. The funeral sermon by Dr. Paddock, of this village, was affecting, and worthy of the aged divine, who delivered it. The death of this lady has deeply afflicted Mr. Miller, and he deeply feels the loss of a wife tenderly loved.  Binghamton Repblican 28th ult.
