A correspondent of Willett [Cortland Co., NY], to the Broome Gazette says:  Thinking perhaps a few items of news from Willett might be of interest to some of the many readers of your valuable paper, we propose sending you a "few jottings."  The news glabbers and blabbers are just having a gay old run about these days.  It appears that one George Covey, son of E.W. Covey, a highly respected and wealthy farmer of our town, was married about the 18th day of February last, to a Miss Eliza Beckwith of Triangle [Broome Co., NY], and went to keeping house in the house with his father. George working his father's farm, and everything to all appearances moving smoothly along, until about three weeks (or June 18th) ago, George not having the fear of the law or "any other man," took to himself another wife, a Miss Anna Salisbury of Smithville [Chenango Co., NY] giving his name as Adelbert Green, of Willett, and hers as Ella Ferris of Chenango Forks, and the marriage was published in the Greene American, printed at Greene N.Y.  Mr. Salisbury's people knew nothing of their daughter's marriage until about a week ago.  She, leaving home as she said, for the purpose of visiting some friends, and her "lovyer" meeting her there, took her to a minister, and was married, as above stated.  It is a sad, mixed up affair, and there are all sorts of rumors afloat with regard to it.  George is only about 17 years old, but he is "on the marry," you bet!
