The Hon. Jarvis K. Pike, a former well-known citizen of this county, died at Whitewater, Wis. on the 16th inst., aged about 89 years. Mr. Pike represented this county for several years in the legislature of this State, and served one term as County Clerk.

Chenango American, Greene, NY, February 26, 1863
Married: In this town [Greene, Chenango Co., NY], on the 18th inst. by Rev. D. Ballou, Mr. Benaiah Soule to Miss Rexaville A. Hollenbeck of Greene.
Died: In Ridgway, Kansas, on the 6th inst. Mrs. Rebekah Copeland, widow of the late Jonathan Copeland, Esq., of Sherburne [Chenango Co., NY] aged 79 years and 8 months.
Death of Aged Printer: Elihu Phinney, of Cooperstown [Otsego Co., NY], recently deceased, in the 78th year of his age, resided nearly all his life in that village. His father established the first newspaper southwest of Albany in this State. He died in 1810 and his sons, Henry and Elihu continued the business. Sixty years ago the Otsego Herald with "Phinney's Almanac" constituted the staple for most of the reading population of an extended but sparsely settled territory.
