In Watertown, Jefferson Co. [NY], on the morning of the 3d instant, after a most distressing illness of about four weeks, Mrs. Charlotte [Hunt], wife of Alvin Hunt, Esq. Editor of the Jeffersonian, in the 46th year of her age. Devoted to her family, in the midst of a life of great usefulness as a teacher of youth, with many long years of probable health and happiness before her, this kind an affectionate Lady has been called away from earth.  In her, the community loses no ordinary member, her friends no common assistant, and her husband and children no common wife and mother.  It was our province to know Mrs. Hunt well.  In the dull days of our long apprenticeship, she was at once the more than mother, the condescending adviser and true friend in every hour of boyish trouble.  In our afterlife we have not wholly forgot her nor her counsels.  A more devoted and assiduous wife and mother or one more entirely devoted to her friends, could not be found.  The bustle and confusion of the world will of course go on.  Those who were dearest to her heart and thoughts may themselves hereafter join in the struggle and jostle for pre-eminence.  The turf above our friend's resting place may grow green, and fade, and grow green again, but the sound principles and truths impressed by this lady upon the hearts of the youth, will never cease their influence.  Time will develop them.  Dem. Union [Apr. 11, 1849]

A Revolutionary Soldier Gone:  The aged veterans, whose toils, hardships and blood, purchased the blessings of freedom now so richly enjoyed by our fair country, are fast being gathered to their last home.  One by one they are called from us, and soon the places that know them will know them no more forever.  March Farrington, father of Col. Morris L. Farrington, for many years a resident of this town [Delhi, Delaware Co., NY], died on Sunday morning last, April 1st, aged 87 years.  He was a Soldier of the Revolution, and also served his country in the last War.  As a citizen, much respected by a large circle of friends, and as a defender of his country in her darkest and most trying hours of danger, his memory will be long cherished with respect and affection.  Delhi Express [Apr. 11, 1849]
