TRUESDELL: Unadilla Valley, NY: Our community has been saddened by the sudden death of Mrs. Harvey Truesdell a lady highly esteemed and the center of a large circle of friends. Her funeral was held in the M.E. Church which was filled with mourners. The casket was covered with beautiful flowers, but the fairest flower within was withering in the cold embrace of death. The young mother with her beautiful babe are buried in one grave. Rev. T.P. Halsted delivered the sermon, and the large congregation by their fixed attention and flowing tears attested their love for the departed. Death has been a frequent visitor in our valley during the past year, spring with her sunshine and flowers is thrice welcome after the dreary winter. [Ruby A. (Chamberlin) Truesdell, d. April 22, 1879, buried Maplewood Cemetery, Mt. Upton, NY]
