Marriages (July 23)

The marriage of Miss Marion Morse Furness and Rev. Warren Newton Bixby, was solemnized at Trinity church, Haverhill, Mass., Monday morning, January 1st, 1917, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Malcom Smith, rector of the parish, assisted by Archdeacon W. W. Love of Cambridge.  Miss Anna Morse of Wellesley college and her brother, Donald Morse of the General Theological Seminary were the attendants.  Immediately following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the bride's home to the relatives and immediate friends of the bride and groom.  The bride is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Furness of Haverhill and the groom is the son of Joel J. Bixby of this city [Norwich, Chenango Co., NY] and is rector of St. Mark's North Easton, Trinity, Randolph and Our Saviour East Arlington--Chenango Union.  [Bainbridge Republican, Jan. 25, 1917]



The wedding of Miss Roxa V. Hahn and Irving D. Tillman was solemnized at 8:30 o'clock Tuesday evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Hahn of 54 Birdsall street.   Rev. H.R. MacMillan performed the ceremony, using the double ring service.  Dr. H.W. McNitt of this city [Norwich, Chenango Co., NY] and Miss I. Souie of Utica were best man and maid of honor, respectfully.  A wedding dinner was served to 40 guests, after which Mr. and Mrs. Tillman left for a Southern trip.  They will be at home after March 1st at 6 Silver street.  The bride was beautifully dressed in ivory bridal satin, trimmed with Dutchell lace and pearl trimmings wore a tulle veil with orange blossoms.  Miss Soule wore pink net over crepe de chine.  Mr. Tillman is the son of County Clerk I.J. Tillman and a member of the law firm of I.J. & L.D. Tillman.  He is a graduate of Syracuse University and has practiced law here since 1909.  His bride is a charming young woman who has been a bookkeeper in local dry goods stores since coming here seven years ago from Andover.  Their many friends extend best wishes at this time--Norwich Plain Dealer  [Bainbridge Republican, Jan. 25, 1917]

The marriage of Miss Anna B. Burbridge, sister of Mrs. Charles D. Reed of Bainbridge, to Mr E. Armstrong Towne of Schuyler's Lake, was celebrated at 12 o'clock today, in the Baptist Church, the pastor, Rev. C.D. Reed, performing the ceremony.  The church was prettily trimmed with evergreens.  There were four ushers, Ralph Curtis, Frank R. West, Clarence Kirby and Howard Salisbury.  The groom was attended by Lowell J. Downs of Schuyler's Lake as best man, and the bride by Miss Marietta Ellsworth of Schuyler's Lake, as bridesmaid.  The bride was dressed in a blue travelling dress and the bridesmaid in a similar costume.  A handsome luncheon was served to the bridal party at Mr. Reed's house on Pruyn Hill [Bainbridge, Chenango Co., NY], the guests from the village being the ushers and the organist, Miss Minnie Van Cott.  Mr. and Mrs. Towne left on the 1:30 train for a wedding tour.  [Bainbridge Republican, Nov. 22, 1899]
