Miss Margaret Elizabeth Taft, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin B. Taft, of Pearl street [Bainbridge, Chenango Co., NY], was married here Saturday evening to Dr. Robert Hazlett Clark, of Bainbridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hazlett Clark, of Meriden, Conn., in St. Peter's Episcopal Church. The double ring ceremony as performed by the Rev. James E. Wolfe, rector. The altar and chancel were banked with a profusion of white lilacs, artistically arranged, forming a most appropriate background for the occasion. Miss Janet Juliand presented a program of wedding music at the organ. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a princess gown of ivory satin trimmed with Chantilly lace, made with long sleeves, sweetheart neckline, and a full skirt that terminated in a long train. She wore a veil of tulle held in place by a tiara of seed pearls and carried a bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. Mrs. Reginald Nichols, a sister of the bride, who was matron of honor, wore a princess gown of orchid taffeta trimmed with Chantilly lace. Her headdress was a tiara of flowers with veil and she carried a bouquet of pink Joan Hill roses. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Robert Craver, a sister of the bride, and Miss Wilburna Holbert, of Utica. They wore gowns of blue and pink chiffon respectively. Donna Juckette, flower girl, was dressed in pale green taffeta trimmed with pink bows. Her headdress was of pink flowers and she carried a basket of colonial flowers. Raymond Bowditch, of Bainbridge, acted as best man, and Dr. David Lieb and Kurt Schneider, both of Bainbridge, were ushers. The bride's mother was attired in a dress of aqua blue crepe with beige accessories and a corsage of talisman roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a dress of rose crepe with white accessories and a corsage of gardenias. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Guild Hall for members of the families and close friends. The hall was beautifully decorated with various shades of lilacs, and crabapple, which formed a most attractive setting for the bridal party. A three-tiered wedding cake, surrounded with lilies of the valley and flanked with cornucopias filled with lilies of the valley, centered the bride's table. The bride is a graduate of Bainbridge Central School and attended Lowell's Business College, Binghamton. prior to her marriage she was employed by the Scintilla Magneto Co. Dr. Clark was graduated form Juaneata College with a degree in chemistry and was awarded his doctor's degree in chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Clark who has been affiliated with the Casein company of America Laboratories for more than a year, has accepted a position in the Research Laboratories of the Ansco Film Co. in Binghamton, starting June 1. Mrs. Clark chose for traveling a two-piece dress of light blue crepe with navy accessories and a corsage of white gardenias. Herbert E. Petley and Mrs. Josephine Schweitzer were united in marriage on Sunday evening, May 28, at 8 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter McIntyre on South Main street [Bainbridge, Chenango Co. NY]. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Paul L. Carpenter, using the double ring service. The home was attractively decorated with spring flowers. The bride wore a two-piece powder blue dress with a corsage of white roses. Sitting down at the attractively decorated table with the bride and groom following the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. McIntyre, Mr. and Mrs. Newton Hovey and the Rev. and Mrs. Paul L. Carpenter. Wheeler - Smith: Miss Alice Effie Smith, of Green Island, near Albany, and Dean Bussman Wheeler, of Hancock [Delaware Co., NY], were married Saturday evening, May 27. The bride is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Harry D. Smith, of Green Island, and her father officiated at the marriage ceremony, which took palace at the Presbyterian Church, of which he is the pastor. Mr. Wheeler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Wheeler, is a graduate of Cornell University and is employed by the General Electric Company in Schenectady.
