Benson of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY] against Grace L. Benson. Evidence in the case disclosed that the parties were married April 15, 1907 and that at the time of the marriage the defendant was bound by a former marriage which took place in 1902 and which never had been dissolved. Miss Edna Margaret Krofft, of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Krofft, of Cooperstown, was married to Robert Meehan, of Oneonta [Otsego Co., NY], son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Meehan, of Syracuse, Thursday evening, June 8 at 6 o'clock, in the Methodist church in Bainbridge. the double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Harry E. Brooks, pastor. Mrs. Lynn Klinetob sang a solo, accompanied by Mrs. A.C. Wilcox. The bride wore a street length dress of orchid crepe with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses and white sweetpeas. The couple was attended by Miss Lillian Palmer, of Afton, and Ardo Thomas, of Bainbridge. Mrs. Meehan attended Cooperstown High School and is now employed at the American Plastics Corp. Mr. Meehan attended Christian Brothers Academy, Syracuse, and is now employed by the D.&H. Railroad. [Bainbridge News & Republican, June 15, 1944]
Miss Frances Perrine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dever W. Perrine, of Oneonta [Otsego Co., NY], became the bride of Eugene O. Houck, son of Mrs. Cora Telford Houck, of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], at a pretty ceremony in the First Presbyterian Church at Oneonta Sunday afternoon at 4. Dr. Boyd McCleary, pastor, officiated at the double ring service. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white sheer ninon, sweetheart neckline and a fingertip veil with Juliette cap with orange blossoms. She carried white roses and baby's breath. Her only attendant was Miss Virginia More, of Oneonta. The best man was Robert Houck, of Bainbridge, a brother of the groom, and the ushers were Donovan L. Rose, of Sidney, and Harry A. Perrien, of Schenectady. Mrs. David Mills, organist, played traditional wedding music, and Miss Charla Felter played two violin solos, "Because" and "O, Promise Me." Thirty attended a reception at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. houck, who will reside at Sidney [Delaware Co., NY] following a wedding trip through the Adirondacks, received many gifts, including money, glassware, silver, linen and household goods. The bride is a graduate of OHS in 1940 and attended Oneonta STC where she was a member of Clioian sorority. She has been an active member of the church choir and other musical organizations in Oneonta. Mr Houck is a graduate of Bainbridge High School and Binghamton Business Institute of Accountants, and is employed by Scintilla as an accountant. He is a member of the Bainbridge Crescendo Club and tenor soloist in the Bainbridge Baptist Church. [Bainbridge news & Republican, June 15, 1944]
