Vital Records, Greene, NY - October 1859

Chenango American, Greene, NY, October 13, 1859

Died:  In Corning, N.Y. [Steuben Co.], on the 9th inst. of consumption, Catharine [Dinnin] wife of Francis Dinnin, formerly of this village [Greene, Chenango Co., NY]. In the decease of this estimable woman a husband and two daughters lose a kind and affectionate wife and mother, and a large circle of acquaintances mourn a dear and sincere friend.  Endowed with the graces which beautify the true Christian, she lived a life of gentleness and love and died in calm and peaceful resignation.  The surviving members of her family have the heartfelt sympathy of a whole community, among whom they have so long resided.

For Member of Assembly - Joseph Bush:  We take especial pleasure in chronicling the fact that the Americans of this Assembly District have endorsed the Republican nominee, Joseph Bush, of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY].  Mr Bush is a man of more than ordinary ability, and a man who will make his mark in our Legislative Halls.  He possesses in a large degree those peculiar characteristics which win for him, wherever he is known, hosts of warm friends and admirers.  His active, energetic business capacity, his strict integrity, his faithful devotee to his friends and genial warm hearted social virtues all combined to render him worthy of a hearty, cheerful and vigorous support.  Mr Bush is an extensive farmer, and is justly celebrated for excelling in almost every brand of Agricultural pursuits.  He is well acquainted with the wants of this community, and his constituents can rely upon his attending faithfully to their interests.  A bold and fearless debater, he will yield to no lobby influence, but knowing, well his duty, he will faithfully perform it.
