 Chenango Telegraph, Norwich, NY, April 8, 1840

Died:  William Burr Andrews, son of Burr B. and Lovina Andrews, of this village [Norwich, Chenango Co., NY], departed this life on the 7th instant, of that painful disease the Scarlet Fever, after a sickness of five days, aged 1 year, 7 months and 17 days.  "Too pure for Earth, he has left us for Heaven."

Married:  BARBER - NORTHUP:  In Smyrna [Chenango Co., NY], Thursday, Sept 29th, by Rev. H.S. Jones, Benj. Barber Jr. of Watertown, N.Y. [Jefferson Co.] to Rachel A. [Northup], daughter of Samuel Northup, of the former place.  The "mint drop" accompanying the above notice prompts in the Printer the warmest wishes for the life-long happiness and prosperity of the parties.

Married:  BILLINGS - POLLOCK:  In Sherburne [Chenango Co., NY], on the morning of the 12th inst., at the residence of the bride's father, by the Rev. A. McDougall, Dr. Samuel K. Billings of this village [Norwich, Chenango Co. NY] to Miss Carrie M. Pollock formerly of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Married:  ROSS - BENON:  In Sherburne [Chenango Co., NY], Oct. 17th at the residence of the bride's father by the Rev. H.S Jones, Charles S. Ross to Miss Martha l. Benton, all of Sherburne.

Married:  COLBURN - BUSHLEY:  In this village [Norwich, Chenango Co., nY], Oct. 13, by Rev. Chas. Blakeslee, A.E. Colburn of Guilford [Chenango Co., NY] to Miss Mellsen Jane Bushley of Norwich.  

Married:  SATTERLEE - MARSH:  In Greene [Chenango Co., NY], on the 17th inst., by Rev. H.W. Gilbert, Lyman Satterlee, to Emeline Marsh, all of Richford, Tompkins Co. [NY].

Married:  CRANDALL - MEDBURY:  Oct. 5th at the residence of the bride's father by the Rev. R. Whittingham, Oscar Crandall, of Watertown, Wis. to Jennie Eliza Medbury of  New Berlin, N.Y. [Chenango Co., ]

Died:  MARTIN:  At Osawatomie, Kansas, Sept. 8, of Congestive Chills, Daniel Martin, aged 62 years and a few days.  Mr. Martin was a native of Hartford Washington [Co.], N.Y. and in 1837 emigrated to Michigan and then to -?- in 183?, hence to Missouri in 1854 from whence he was driven in 1856 by Clark's band of outlaws on account of his political opinions. He however was returned with his family, settled up his business, sold out, and selected Osawatomie as his future home where he has resided till his death, which took place after an illness of only six days during but one of which he was considered in danger.

Died:  ABLE:  At Binghamton [Broome Co., NY], September 25?, Freddie M. [Able], only son of James and Hellen Able, aged 1 year.  From our circle little Brother / Early hast thou passed away / But the angels say another / Joins our holy song today.
