Miss LaVonne Beers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beers, of Bainbridge [Chenango Co., NY], became the bride of Pvt. Vyrie Stilwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Stilwell, of Oneonta [Otsego Co., NY], on Sunday afternoon at 4:30. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Samuel Sargent, of the Franklin Methodist Church. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sullivan of Otego. The bride wore a teal blue suit, with a corsage of gardenias. The matron of honor wore a blue and white street dress, with a corsage of pink roses. Little Patricia Ann Kinch wore salmon pink sharkskin, with talisman roses. The bride is a graduate of Bainbridge High School and is employed in the Scintilla. The groom attended Oneonta High School and has just completed a training course at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Aberdeen, Md. He will leave immediately for the San Francisco Airdome at Almeda, Calif. The couple was given a reception at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Stilwell, at which time the immediate friends and relatives wished them much joy. On Tuesday evening, Oct. 13, the neighbors and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Robbins honored the Robbins with a surprise party, the occasion being the 40th wedding anniversary of the guests of honor. About 50 friends gathered to celebrate with the Robbins, and presented the couple with a purse and a three-tiered wedding cake which they helped to enjoy. Park - Coss: Mr. and Mrs. Alson W. Coss, of Kenmore [Erie Co., NY], announce the engagement of their daughter, Dorothea May, to Lieut, McConnell Duncan Park, son of Mrs. Cook Park of Buffalo, and Dr. Jay M. Park, of Holbrook, Ariz. Miss Coss attended the University of Buffalo and Syracuse University, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Lieut. Park graduated from Deveaux School, attended University of Buffalo and University of Chicago, where he is a member of the Omega Delta Fraternity. Adams - Harrington: A very lovely fall wedding occurred Thursday morning, Oct. 15, at 10 o'clock, when Miss Ruth Charlotte Harrington and Lieut. Robert Copeland Adams were united in marriage by the Rev. A.A. Bresee, of Greene, at Christ's Episcopal Church. A reception and wedding breakfast followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's sister and husband, Mr. and Mr. Stuart B. Ives. Miss Eloise Adams, sister of Lieut. Adams, was maid of honor and Maynard Bellinger, of Sidney, acted as best man. Miss Harrington was given in marriage by her brother, Earl Harrington, of Ticonderoga. Her gown was of white slipper satin with wrist pointed sleeves. She wore a finger tip veil of bridal illusion, caught to a wreath of orange blossoms and carried a white Bible. Miss Adams wore an aqua dress of taffeta with fuchsia accessories and carried white pompons. Mrs. Adams, mother of the bridegroom, wore a blue dress with black accessories and a corsage of red roses. The bride's mother, Mrs. Harrington, wore a black suit and her corsage was white pompons and white roses. The altar and church were appropriately decorated and Mrs. Charles Green, of Guilford, presided at the organ. At the time Lieut. Adams was inducted into the Army, he was in his senior year at Cornell University. The bride is a graduate of Lowell School of Business and was employed in the office of the Eng. Dept. of Scintilla Co. at Sidney. After a wedding trip through the South, Lieut. and Mrs. Adams will make their home in Alexandria, La., where Lieut. Adams is an instructor. Randall - Blow: The marriage of Miss Dorothy Harriett Blow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Tallon, of 11 Bellevue Heights, Binghamton [Broome Co., NY], to Stanley S. Randall, son of Mrs. Mabel Randall, of Guilford [Chenango Co., NY], took place Thursday evening, Oct. 8, at 8 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents. The Rev. A.A. Wright, pastor of the First Christian Church, Binghamton, performed the double ring ceremony before the fireplace, which was banked with chrysanthemums, palms and candelabra. Wedding music was played by Mrs. B. Tananhaus, fo Sayre, Pa., and mr.s Leon Yerger was the soloist. The bride, who was given in marriage by her stepfather, was gowned in white marquisette over taffeta, made with long skirt and train. A tiara of gardenias held her fingertip length veil of illusion, and she carried a bouquet of white pompons. Miss Louise Darrow, maid of honor for Miss Blow, wore a long dres sof pink net and carried a bouquet of pink and white pom-pons. Orson Randall, brother of the bridegroom acted as best man. Nearly 70 guests attended the reception , which followed the ceremony. A tiered wedding cake, topped with miniature bride and bridegroom, centered the bride's table, flanked by tapers in crystal holders, and arrangements of fall flowers. After a short wedding trip the couple returned to Guilford and are receiving their friends in the late Emma North home on Guilford Lake, known as "Squirrel Lodge."
