The afflictive dispensation that has removed from our midst this estimable woman, has brought sorrow to many hearts. In her death, her family, a large circle of friends, the church of which she was long an exemplary member and society at large have sustained no ordinary loss. Though suffering for years under a gradual failure of health, and often prostrated by protracted sickness, in her patient endurance and elevated example, in her high appreciation and scrupulous discharge of duties, in her kind consideration and care for others, in her felling and active benevolence, she sustained and adorned the character of wife, mother, friend, in a manner the most endearing and impressive. Hers was emphatically the Christian's life, calm, serene, with that deep abiding faith which looks with steadfast eye beyond the grave - hers has been eminently the Christian's death, tranquil, triumphant, happy.
"She departed as sets the morning star, which goes / Not down behind the darkened mist, nor hides / Obscured among the tempests of the sky, / But melts away into the light of heaven"
