Madison, Madison Co. NY:  No little stir in our quiet village was occasioned by a wedding in "high life" on Thursday, December 13th.  the parties were Mr. D.V. Purington of Boston and Miss M. Louisa Chamberlian, of this village. The ceremony was performed in the Congregational Church.  Miss Addie Tillinghast of Morrisville presided at the organ.

Marriage

At Norwich on the 10th ult, Mr. George M. Woolsey merchant of this city, to Miss Howland daughter of Mr. Joseph Howland, merchant of that place.

News Item

Ten Dollars Reward:  Ran away on Sunday morning 24th ult from the subscribers, an indented German servant named Charles Gother Schroder aged 27 years, about five feet ten inches high, well made, light hair and complexion, with blue eyes, his -?- somewhat crooked.  He had on when he absconded, a course Brown mixed cloth surtout, purple jacket with sleeves and corduroy breeches with silver knee buckles.  He is a carpenter by trade and came passenger in the ship Charlote, Capt. Neil from Hamburgh.  Whoever will secure said servant so that his masters may get him again, shall receive the reward and all reasonable expenses.  John Slider, Jun. and Co. No. 58 Broadway.

Death

At Salem of an apoplexy in the 53d year of his age, Major General John Fisk a gentleman much esteemed for all the virtues of the private citizen and of the friend of mankind.
