_____________________

In New York City, Feb. 25th, Mr. Robert Squires aged about 61 years.

We learn that Mrs. John G. Brown of Utica [Oneida Co. NY] who is now here with her mother, who is lying dangerously ill with pneumonia, received a dispatch from New York on Tuesday, stating that Robert Squires, oldest son of the late Charles Squires of this village [Greene, Chenango Co. NY], died at his residence in that city a few hours before. We believe, that in this death, the last of this family, once large and well-known in this community have passed away.  Mr. Squires has resided in New York many years and has been an active businessman.  At one time he was a prominent merchant and more recently he was President of the Third Avenue Railroad.  He had entirely severed his connection with the home of his boyhood not having been here since his father's death, about 7 years since.
