ARMOUR:  In Volney, Oswego Co. [NY] Oct. 9, John Armour formerly of Smithfield [Chenango Co. NY], aged 65 years.

WHITMAN:  At his residence near Clockville [Madison Co. NY], Oct. 29, Franklin M. Whitman aged 62 years.

As we go to press, we hear with regret of the death of Franklin M. Whitman, an old, highly respectable and widely known citizen who has resided near Clockville for many years.  His loss will be felt by many warm friends and a large circle of acquaintances. We believe that his disease was inflammation of the lungs and that he had been confined to the house but a few days.

REED:  In Syracuse [Onondaga Co. NY] Oct. 29, Flora [Reed] wife of James A. Reed, formerly of Durhamville, N.Y. [Oneida Co. NY] in the 33d year of her age.  Mrs. Reed had, previous to her short residence in Syracuse, lived in Durhamville from her childhood, and her many warm friends and acquaintances will learn with regret of her sudden death.  Her remains were brought from Syracuse to the residence of her father, Dr. Wood of Durhamville on Tuesday last, and the funeral services were held at the Baptist Chruch on the afternoon of the day following.

MURPHY:  The Clinton Courier [Oneida Co. NY] tells of a little child, son of Wm. Murphy, a resident of the old pottery building, who was so severely burned on Monday of last week, about noon, as to cause its death on the evening of that day. The child had been left alone in the room for a short time and in some way its clothes caught on fire, burning it fearfully before its piteous cries brough anyone to the rescue.
